The Bill gets a new look in January thanks to some fresh opening titles.
They will pay homage to the 'legs and feet' title credits, which kicked off the first show on ITV in October 1984.
Despite a few format changes, the Sun Hill-based saga remains one of Britain's longest-running police dramas.
The original credits have been amongst the most instantly recognisable in TV history.
They focused on two police officers' legs walking along a cobbled street.
"The original title credits had great visual impact when introduced for the very first episode 22 years ago," commented executive producer, Johnathan Young, "but we've really worked on a whole new, up-to-date look for the titles.
"We've incorporated a much wider view of police work to reflect the diversity of 21st century policing, whilst remaining true to the heritage and history of show, interspersed with fantastic shots of London."
The new title sequence heralds the start of another eventful year for The Bill.
On January 3, PCs Roger Valentine (John Bowler) and Dan Casper (Chris Jarvis) will have to cope with Rick Harris (Colin Tierney), a grieving father found sleeping at the wheel of his parked car.
Tierney previously played Charles Vanderbilt in the show in 2003, and has also appeared in Holby City and Casualty.
